The Canterbury Stampede Groundbreak Team SG is a durable, soft-ground rugby boot built for powerful forwards. Designed for stability and traction in wet conditions, it features a sturdy TPU outsole and 8-stud configuration for strong grip during scrums and rucks. With a wide fit and cushioned support, it delivers reliable performance at a great value—ideal for players who thrive on strength and control.

  • An entry-level alternative to the Elite, the Team SG is a reliable, budget-friendly boot for forwards (in particular, front row forwards), built to deliver solid traction, stability, and power in scrums and contact play

   Outsole:

  • Flightbeam TPU outsole - stiff and stable single-part outsole to optimize power transfer & stability under foot - an entry-level alternative to the Elite with the 2 part outsole
  • Eight 18 mm screw-in metal studs—four in the forefoot and two longer at the heel—for anchoring grip during scrums and contact play

   Upper:

  • Synthetic PU upper, similar to Elite but simpler

   Fit & Support & Comfort: 

  • Wider toe box and molded heel cup ensure comfort and a secure fit

  • One-piece synthetic upper that offers scuff resistance and durability
  • Breathable mesh lining, a cushioned collar, and a standard EVA footbed for extra support and comfort.

Studs: Most boots with replaceable studs arrive with a tightening tool. It is important to tighten studs before using your boots for the first time.


Care:

  • Knock off loose mud to remove dirt from uppers and studs
  • Wipe down with a damp cloth using cool water (not hot water)
  • Stuff boots with paper towels to retain shape and absorb moisture
  • Condition leather with beeswax or leather balm
  • Check and replace studs 
  • Let the boots air dry (avoid heat sources) for 24-48 hours
  • Store boots in a dry, ventilated environment to prevent mold or mildew
